What Violation Looks Like
I live in DC. I’m watching my city get raped. There’s no other word for it.
Trump’s administration just terminated a nonprofit’s 50-year lease to manage three public golf courses—five years in—claiming default the nonprofit fundamentally disagrees with . The National Links Trust spent $8.5 million making these courses accessible and affordable. Doubled rounds played. Doubled revenue.
Trump told the Wall Street Journal “If we do them, we’ll do it really beautifully” while dumping East Wing demolition rubble onto East Potomac Golf Links . He’s converting public accessible courses into championship venues for elite competition. Why? He already owns Trump National Golf Club in the area. But that’s not enough.
This is naked corruption. Open looting. A president using federal power to steal public land for his personal brand while we watch.
Where the fuck is everyone?
Where are the Republican “constitutionalists” who spent decades screaming about government overreach?
Where’s the Supreme Court that somehow found time to gut the EPA and overturn Roe but can’t find standing to stop a president from literally stealing city assets?
Where are the moral leaders? The pastors? The “family values” conservatives? Are you wrapped up in the Epstein files?
You’re complicit because you won’t say so. You go along. You’re cowards.
In the past, men like this never made it to the top. The system had antibodies. Decency. Shame. The rule of law meant something. Now? We’re watching systematic destruction of every value that made this country functional.
Humility? He’s painting the White House gold and demanding an NFL stadium be named after him.
Generosity? He stopped foreign aid, untaxed the richest even more, and stripped nurses of their professional benefits. Who does such things?
Tolerance? He’s using federal agencies as personal weapons against nonprofits doing good work.
The rule of law? Trump’s moving to control the Smithsonian, demolishing the East Wing for a ballroom, and participating in efforts to name a new stadium after himself . He’s inscribing his brand across civic institutions like a mob boss marking territory.
This isn’t governance. This is occupation.
And you—every Rep who stays silent, the Supreme Court justices who looks away, “influencers” more concerned with engagement than principle—you’re all accomplices. You’re enabling a debacle of American values because speaking up might cost you.
You think this stops at golf courses? It doesn’t. When you let a president use federal power for personal enrichment without consequence, you’ve destroyed the foundation. Everything after is just watching the building collapse.
I feel violated. Like being forced to watch what you love suffer. These are our public spaces. And they’re being stolen in broad daylight while the people who could stop it—judges, legislators, moral leaders—pretend not to notice.
You want to know why young people think democracy is dead? Because they’re watching it die. In real time. On repeat. While the adults in the room count their money and check their polls and decide that principle is too expensive.
Fuck your silence. Fuck your complicity. And fuck this administration’s open contempt for everything we’re supposed to stand for.
Say something. Do something. Or admit you never believed in any of it.
